The project will reopen the level crossing between Remembrance Drive and the Avenue Road by installing flashing lights, bells, boom barriers and a pedestrian crossing. Associated roadwork will be undertaken by the Victorian Government and/or the City of Ballarat.
The project will reconnect Remembrance Drive and the Avenue Road to enable a continuous route along the historic Avenue of Honour. The project will improve vehicle and pedestrian safety.
The Australian Government will provide up to $1 million (capped) to reopen the level crossing with additional costs to be met by the Victorian Government and/or the City of Ballarat.
