As part of the development phase, this project involved land acquisition for the future construction of a new bridge crossing of the Derwent River to replace the existing Bridgewater Bridge.
Early acquisition of property titles to create certainty for property owners and reduce risks related to land tenure.
Reservation of the project corridor.
The Australian Government committed $6.4 million to this part of the development phase of the project.
Arrangements for land acquisitions commenced in early 2013. The final property acquisition was finalised in December 2015.
