Council approved an application to subdivide land at 160 Forest Road, West Hobart. The approved subdivision will create an additional 95 allotments. During the approval process for the subdivision, it was noted that the western end of Forest Road was narrow in places without adequate infrastructure, such as kerbs, underground drainage and footpaths. It was considered that Forest Road in its present state would not be suitable to cater for the additional traffic that would result from the proposed subdivision.
The proposed works include widening the carriage way, providing pedestrian footpath on one side, improved stormwater drainage and associated retaining walls,
Total cost of proposed project is $670,000
