The project will provide three lanes in each direction on the Brooker Highway from Elwick Road to Howard Road. The project will also realign and signalise the intersection of Elwick Road and Goodwood Road and signalise the intersection at Howard Road.
The project is expected to ease congestion and improve traffic flow.
The estimated cost of the project is $33.81 million. The Australian Government is contributing $26.71 million and the Tasmanian Government $7.10 million.
Construction commenced on 21 January 2016 and is expected to be complete in mid 2017.
