NorthLink WA will provide a new transport link between Morley and Muchea, north of Perth. This project combines two adjacent Infrastructure Investment Program projects - the Central and Northern Sections (Swan Valley Bypass) and the Southern Section (Tonkin Highway Grade Separations).
The construction of three grade separated interchanges on the Tonkin Highway at the intersections of Benara Road, Morley Drive and Collier Road and widening to six lanes.
The Tonkin Grade Separations at key road freight intersections will enable safer and more efficient movement of freight around Perth. It will reduce travel times and congestion, and provide significant productivity benefits to the economy, industry, motorists and local communities. It is also expected to reduce road casualties.
Together with the Central and Northern Sections, the NorthLink WA projects will provide a continuous connection from the Perth International Airport area to Muchea.
The Australian Government is contibuting $100.6 million from the Infrastructure Investment Program and $84.36 million from the GST revenue shortfall in 2014-15 towards the $231.2 million project.
Construction commenced in June 2016 and is expected to be completed in mid 2018.
