The project involves upgrading of approximately 12 kilometres and sealing of approximately 3 kilometres of the Buntine Highway.
The Buntine Highway is closed several times a year during the wet season. The project will improve flood immunity, safety and reliability, increase the efficiency of freight movements, and improve freight corridor productivity.
The Australian Government is providing $9 million towards this project.
Construction commenced in mid-2015 and works completed in June 2017.
