The project involves construction of two new high level bridges over the Roper and Wilton rivers, and approximately 7 kilometres of bridge approach works.
The project will improve flood immunity, safety and reliability, increase the efficiency of freight movements, and improve the productivity of freight corridors.
The Australian Government is contributing up to $42.5 million towards this project.
Early works commenced in late 2015 with major construction commencing in April 2016. Works are expected to be completed progressively through until late-2017.
