This section of Sedan Dip Road is 5km of 6m wide unsealed black soil road. As Sedan Dip Road is an arterial road linking McKinlay Shire with Cloncurry and is subject to heavy stock moments and tourist traffic. This black soil road consistently requires work to smooth corrugations and rectify potholes and during wet periods, is often impassable for at least 2 weeks at a time. This segment of road requires sealing to provide all-weather access to the travelling public.
Form and seal 5km of 6m wide of unsealed black soil road between chainage 31.9 and 36.9 on Sedan Dip Road (which commences at the intersection of the Burke Development Road and the Sedan Dip Road) re-instate shoulders, table drains, replace grid, road markers and signage.
