The project widened shoulders and installed wire rope barriers on the Midland Highway south of Kempton.
The project achieved a 3 Star AusRAP Safety Rating on this section of the Midland Highway. The project improved safety, capacity and overtaking opportunities.
The cost of the project was $4,813,000. The Australian Government contributed $3,850,000 and the Tasmanian Government $963,000.
Construction commenced on 12 December 2014 and was completed on 21 January 2016.
