Very rough road surface with many recurring potholes, failing base layers, a high degree of rutting, and the bitumen surface failing (ravelling)over about 12 per cent of its surface. This road was constructed as a rural road and the increasing volume of traffic is beyond its structural capacity.
to mill and fill 390mm deep near the intersection and for the rest of the 460 m length, scarify the existing surface and add 215 mm granular overlay to strengthen the base layer and remove its roughness, as well as widen the road and improve its shoulders. The surface will be sealed with a 2 coat bitumen seal
Total cost of proposed project is $383,809
