Due to the rapid population in the City of Cockburn and associated travel demands, road such a Beeliar Drive is not performing the function of a distributor road. The level of services on section of road between intersections of Spearwood Avenue/Beeliar Drive and Stock Road/Beeliar Drive is close to road capacity causing unstable traffic flow with a number of breakdowns and almost no freedom to select desired speed or to manoeuvre within the traffic stream. By constructing a second carriageway and reconstructing intersections within proposed section of the road widening, the City will gain an opportunity to improve road safety and permeability of travel through the City.
Construction of second cariegaway between intersections of Spearwood Avenue/Beeliar Drive and Stock Road/Beeliar and reconstruct intersections of Beeliar Drive/Watson Road, Beeliar Drive/Birchley Road and Beeliar Drive/Tindal Avenue.
Total cost of proposed project is $4,000,000
