Project Description

Upgrade of an existing way side stop on the southbound carriageway on the Calder Highway, 16 kilometres south of Bendigo.


This upgrade will now allow trucks, buses and caravans to access the rest area, enabling all road users to utilise the new facilities.  It will also increase safety for drivers by reducing fatigue related crashes.


The estimated cost of the project is $8.2 million.  The Australian Government is contributing $6,150,000 and the Victorian Government $2,050,000.


Construction is expected to commence mid 2017 and to be completed late 2017.
