This is one of the 15 projects being delivered as part of the Australian Government's $508 million commitment to the Warrego Highway - Toowoomba to Miles - Upgrade Programme.
The project involves replacing the existing structurally defective and load restricted culvert with a concrete bridge, and widening of the existing approaches.
The project will improve transport efficiency and capacity at this location, on the Warrego Highway. This will allow for this important freight line to cater for the projected increase in traffic levels generated from the growth of the Surat Basin resource region.
The Australian Government is providing up to $25.8 million to the project in partnership with the Queensland Government.
Construction commenced in July 2016 and is expected to be completed in mid 2017.
