The problem with the current existing gravel road is the road corrugates in summer and potholes in the winter with the high traffic loads. The road also has a loose unsafe gravel surface that varies in width making it difficult for traffic to pass. Construction of an unsealed collector road to provide community and commercial traffic with improved access to the main road network. Improving safety, reducing high maintenance of unsealed road and improving mobility for commercial and local traffic by providing a smooth, wider sealed road surface.
Constructing 2.9km of unsealed road on Craig Road including kerb and channel with asphalt seal.
Total cost of proposed project is $4,320,000
