The project will involve pavement widening and strengthening of approximately 30 kilometres of narrow and rough pavement on the Flinders Highway between Hughenden and Cloncurry.
The project will assist in reducing vehicle operating and maintenance costs, increasing safety and improving travel times for road users.
The Australian Government has committed up to $20 million towards the project, in partnership with the Queensland Government.
The project commenced June 2016 and was completed December 2016.
