Project Description

The project will involve the replacement of the existing bridges at Big Horse Creek and Little Horse Creek crossings on the Victoria Highway, with new high level bridges and upgrades to the approach road to improve flood immunity.

Benefits

The project will deliver new bridges that will be able to withstand up to a 1 in 20 years flood event. This will improve the level of the flood immunity of the Victoria Highway to provide more reliable access for road users.

Funding

The Australian Government has committed up to $20.01 million towards the project, in partnership with the Northern Territory Government.

Timetable

Construction is expected to commence in mid-2017, and be completed in late-2018.
