Project Description

Bowen Road is home to the Point Lonsdale Primary School. The existing road is sealed with unsealed gravel verges. The unsealed gravel verges are heavily used for parking /school drop offs. Drainage of the road surface stormwater run off is via road side open drains beside the verge. The road side drainage is susceptible to loss of shape from parking vehicles causing ineffective road side drainage. Excessive maintenance is required to the road side verges and drains to address ponding water and prevent edge break of the sealed traffic lanes.

Drainage at the northern end of Bowen Road (from Point Lonsdale Road for a length of 150metres) on the east and west side will be formally constructed with a sealed surface. The unsealed verge 'drop off' area in front of the school gate will be sealed to reduce maintenance requirements.
