The existing bridge has an ageing steel beam and timber deck structure and forms a vital access link for the community. The existing bridge is too narrow for two way traffic, the speed zone is 80km/h and non-vehicular traffic is poorly catered for.
Replacement of the existing bridge structure with a new concrete construction, 8.5 metre wide with a 16 metre span, that will meet current day traffic loadings. Widening on road approaches to suit new bridge width. A pedestrian path will be provided on the bridge structure.
