The project constructed two truck lay-bys on the Federal Highway in the vicinity of the New South Wales border and associated deceleration and acceleration lanes, signage and lighting.
The project improved driver safety and amenity for vehicle parking along the highway. The project also increased productivity and improved of pavement integrity.
The cost of the project was $4 million. The Australian Government contributed $3.2 million and the Australian Capital Territory Government $800,000.
Construction commenced on 4 March 2016 and was completed on 23 December 2016.
