Funding Program:Roads to Recovery Program
Transport Mode:Road
Expected Start/Finish:Jan 2016 - Jul 2017
Australian Government Contribution:$150,000
Local Council/Shire:Barcaldine Regional Council

Project Description

The majority of streets within Barcaldine have a narrow bitumen seal which is insufficient for vehicles to pass and are without kerb and channel. Due to narrowness of the seal vehicles need to drive on the adjacent unsealed shoulders when passing which generates a dust hazard. During rain events potholes form readily immediately adjacent to the bitumen edge which deteroriates the unsealed shoulder further.

Reconstruction of the existing pavement and the installation of kerb and channel to formalise the carriageway, minimise dust and improve drainage.
