This Section of Sedan Dip Road is 3km of 6m wide unsealed black soil road. As Sedan Dip Road is an arterial rural road linking McKinlay and Cloncurry Shires, and is subject to heavy stock movements and tourist traffic. This black soil road consistently requires work to address corrugations and during the wet season is subject to washouts and boggy conditions resulting in unsealed sections often being impassable for at least 2 weeks at a time. This segment of road requires sealing to provide all-weather access to the travelling public.
Form and seal 3km of 6m wide unsealed black soil road. The starting point for the 3km section of works on Sedan Dip Road to be 29.5km from the Link Road intersection with Sedan Dip Road. Works also to include re-instatement of shoulders, road markers and signage.
Total cost of proposed project is $800,000
