The problem with the existing gravel road is that it corrugates in summer and pot holes in the winter due to the high traffic volumes. The existing road has a loose grave surface and is narrow in parts making it unsafe for passing vehicles Construction of an unsealed collector road to provide community and commercial traffic with improved access to the main road network. The project improves safety, significantly reduces the high maintenance of unsealed road and improves the mobility of commercial and local traffic by having a consistent, smooth, wide sealed surface.
Stage 1: Construction of 2.4 km of unsealed road on Smiths Lane including kerb and channel and asphalt seal.
Total cost of proposed project is $3,750,000
