Subsurface instability has caused consistent pavement failure over two 500m sections. Such failures include surface cracking, potholing and edge cracking. Patching the road has proved to only temporarily solve the issue.
The seal for these two 500m sections will be entirely removed. The subsurface will be ripped and blended with high quality road base. The road base will then be sufficiently compacted and allowed to sit for one weeks prior to seal to determine any further subsurface deficiencies.
Upon rectification of any further issues, a two-coat 14/7 seal will be laid 8m wide and line marked accordingly.
Table drains will be reformed and stormwater culverts and pipes will be cleared to rectify drainage issues.
