Rural bridges, especially those constructed out of wood are at a high risk of damage from bush fires. It has been recommended that vegetation be cleared from around rural bridges to protect these important community assets.
A 10 meter buffer zone representing cleared vegetation will be established either side of the bridge. These works represent one-off major clearing with the area then to kept clear by the City of Busselton in perpetuity.
