Project Description

Timor road is the only road linking the town of Coonabarabran and the Warrumbungle National Park. The road is bitumen sealed and in the work location the width of the bitumen seal is narrow and less than 6 metres in width. The road shoulder in the work location is narrow and there are many section of bitumen edge 'drops' of greater than 50mm. Furthermore, the surface of road shoulder and edge of bitumen is rough and hazardous to motorists.

The work proposed includes reconstructing and widening the road shoulder by adding up to 300mm of road base to a width of 1.5 metres on both sides of the road. The widened road shoulder will be bitumen sealed. The total length of widening is 2km
