Project DescriptionThis section of Kennedy Avenue is through a "cut" and there are substantial concrete bloc retaining walls on each side of road. The concrete blocks have an asbestos backing sheet that is accessible from the road and it has started to break up, meaning that pieces of asbestos are falling onto the road and also the asbestos can be easily reached and broken by pedestrians..
The aim is to remove the existing asbestos backing sheet using licensed personnel and replace with a suitable backing sheet and reinstate retaining wall to full functionality. This project will be the subject of a contract and the final method adopted to do the work will be up to the selected contractor. |
