This intersection is included in Griffith City Council’s Heavy Vehicle Bypass Strategy. It has a history of accidents occurring due to poor alignment, and poor visibility at intersections and curves due to constraints of irrigation and drainage structures, water, sewer, electricity and gas assets. It is included in Council's proposed Heavy Vehicle Bypass Strategy and is a crucial link in the development of an alternative bypass for heavy vehicle traffic
Construct a large 5-way rural roundabout as Stage 1 of Griffith City Council's Heavy Vehicle Bypass, including realignment and construction of road pavement approaches to the intersection, adjustment of utilities and services including irrigation and drainage structures, electricity, streetlighting and water supply.
Total cost of proposed project is $2,023,779
