The project will seal approximately 20.6 kilometres of Highland Lakes Road from Miena to Haulage Hill, north of Breona. The project will also realign and widen three curves on Haulage Hill.
The benefits of this project will be improved safety, improved access for road users and reduced travel time.
The estimated cost of the project is $8.92 million. The Australian Government is contributing $5 million and the Tasmanian Government $3.92 million.
Construction commenced in January 2017 and is expected to be completed in mid 2019.
