Replace the existing Saltwater River timber bridge with a new single lane bridge deck and guard rails, using the existing concrete abutments.
The benefits of this project will be improved safety, increased load capacity for the new bridge, improved freight efficiency and reduced maintenance costs.
The estimated cost of the project is $200,000. The Australian Government is contributing $100,000 and the Tasman Council $100,000.
Construction commenced in April 2017 and was completed in July 2017.
