The existing road formation is inconsistent and narrow in several locations including past the school frontage.
The increased traffic using the narrow seal is resulting in increased damage to the edge of the seal and shoulder pavement.
The increased traffic has also raised safety issues with traffic, school busses, pedestrians, and heavy vehicles operating together on the narrow pavement.
Application of a correctional course to the existing road pavement and stabilise the pavement to 2.5% to 250mm with 60/40 Slag/lime.
Widen formation to permit 2 * 3.5m trafficable lanes with a minimum 0.3m sealed shoulders each and a 2.2m shared cycle lane.
Constuct a 2.2m shared cycle lane on the southern side.
Seal constructed and rehabilitated surfaces with a 10mm Primer Seal, reinstate linemarking and signage.
