The project will upgrade the Calder Highway between Bendigo and Mildura in northern Victoria. The works will include construction of overtaking lanes, rest area implementation and road side improvements.
The project is expected to improve driver safety and travel times.
The total cost of the project is $20 million. The Australian and Victorian governments are each contributing $10 million.
Construction commenced on 2 April 2018 and is expected to be completed in mid-2020.
