Project Description

This project will involve upgrading targeted sections of the Great Alpine Road from Cobungra to Bruthen in Victoria.  The works will include widening lanes and shoulders; installing safety barriers, rock netting, catch fencing and slow vehicle pull-over areas; and information signage.

Benefits

The project is expected to improve safety and efficiency for all road users and support economic growth in the region.

Funding

The estimated cost of the project is $10 million.  The Australian and Victorian governments are each contributing $5 million.

Timetable

Construction commened on 9 October 2017 and is expected to be completed in early 2021.
