The project will involve the upgrade of the Murray Valley Highway between Echuca and Yarrawonga in northern Victoria, including construction of a new roundabout; upgrading selected intersections, access roads and rest areas; sealing shoulders; installing safety barriers and undertaking various delineation improvements.
The project is expected to improve safety and efficiency for all road users and support economic growth in the region.
The estimated cost of the project is $20 million. The Australian and Victorian governments are each contributing $10 million.
Construction commenced on 1 June 2018 and is expected to be completed in mid-2020.
