The project will realign the South Gippsland Highway from Old Koonwarra-Meeniyan Road to Minns Road. The project will also widen shoulders and install flexible safety barriers at selected locations between Meeniyan and Yarram, and construct two new bridges over the Tarwin River.
The project is expected to improve safety and efficiency for all road users and support economic growth in the region.
The estiamted cost of the project is $50 million. The Australian and Victorian governments are each contributing $25 million.
Construction is expected to commence in late 2018 and be completed in early 2021.
