The DN 600 storm water culvert adjacent to Forsyth Road is a choke point during heavy rain as it does not allow adequate stormwater run off . This causes flood waters to pool at the entrance of the culvert and rise over the road resulting in erosion of the shoulder and sub surface in addition to depositing loose sediment on the road which in turn is contributing to deterioration of the road surface. 400m of earth drain along Forsyth Road is silted and has incorrect gradient, impeding water flow.
Remove the existing storm water culvert, which has insufficient capacity, clean out and reinstate gradient to 400m of drain, install new box culvert and reinstate the drain to ensure effective drainage.
