Gapuwiyak Road is susceptible to extreme weather conditions and monsoonal rain predominantly during the wet season between December and April.
Periods of intense or prolonged rainfall has previously seen potentially dangerous washouts and serious decline of the gravel surface.
Reformation of the gravel roadway (lifting in front of the police station to enhance drainage).
Bitumen sealing to 8m width and Scour protection in drains.
Total cost of proposed project is $807,092
