Project Description

The project will widen approximately seven kilometres of the southbound carriageway of Mitchell Freeway between Cedric Street and Vincent Street. The upgrade will include an additional lane, creating four continuous lanes on this section of the Freeway.

Benefits

The project is expected to alleviate congestion at the southern section of Mitchell Freeway during peak periods.

Funding

The Australian Government has committed $32 million to this project.  The Western Australian Government will contribute $8 million.

Timetable

The project is in the planning phase, with construction expected to commence in late 2018 for completion in late 2019.
