Existing road is depressed and narrow formation with multiple wide creek crossings which is prone to severe inundation, flash flooding and extensive scouring due to water cross-flow in heavy rain events.
Reconstruct road on existing alignment to improve formation, vertical and horizontal geometry; carry out laterite sheeting; install additional drainage, levee banks and push out causeways through creeks; cut down steep banks of creeks to reduce water flow velocity. Road width 10m, total length of works across 18km.
Total cost of proposed project is $425,997
