Intersection of Russel Road, Hammond Road and Frankland Avenue, Hammond Park currently provides “ left in and left out” movement on the south and north side of Russel Road. Due to rapid developments in both sides of Russel Road and associated travel demand this intersection is not performing the function of a four- way intersection. In an effort to improve the safety and efficiency of the intersection the City of Cockburn proposed to install a roundabout.
A roundabout will improve the safety of the intersection for road users by lowering speeds through the intersection and improving the efficiency of the intersection by providing safe gaps in the flow of traffic for right hand turning manoeuvres.
Reconstruction of Intersection of Russel Road, Hammond Road and Frankland Avenue include construction of roundabout, relocation of existing services, street lighting, drainage and required footpath.
Total cost of proposed project is $1,700,000
