This project involves an upgrade to this section of the Bruce Highway to six lanes, including rehabilitation and replacement of the existing Chinaman Creek bridges, and intersection upgrades on Port Connection Road.
Improved capacity, efficiency and safety, and reduced travel time for vehicles.
The Australian Government has committed up to $83.3 million towards the project in partnership with the Queensland Government.
Planning works commenced in late 2017. Construction works are expected to commence in mid 2018 and be completed in mid 2021, weather permitting.
