The project will construct a new rail bridge over the Avon River, south of Stratford, and decomission the existing bridge.
The project will replace the existing bridge which is at end of life, resulting in the removal of temporary speed restrictions over the Avon River Bridge.
The Australian Government is contributing $86 million to the project and the Victorian Government $9 million.
The project is expected to commence construction in late 2019 and be complete in early 2021.
