The METRONET - Morley-Ellenbrook Line project will add approximately a 21 kilometre spur line from the existing Midland Line just east of Bayswater Station to connect communities in Morley, Noranda, Malaga, Bennett Springs, Whiteman and Ellenbrook with six potential stations. The project also includes upgrades to Bayswater Station to support its transition to a major transport hub.

- improving transport network resilience by providing alternative options
Improve housing diversity:
- support growth of vibrant urban centres through integrated transport and land use planning
Jobs and business opportunities:
- provide jobs during project delivery and encourage long term opportunities for new businesses to grow
The Australian Government has committed $500 million towards the $1 billion project.
The project is currently in the early Preliminary Planning stages. The final business case is expected to be completed in late 2019 and early works to commence in early 2020 and major constructions from mid/late 2020.
