Australian Privacy Principle 5 Notice

Your submission, including any personal information supplied, is being collected by the department for the purpose of seeking public and industry comment on the approach and content of its proposed cost estimation guidance, in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (the Privacy Act).

Your personal information will be stored securely by the department. It may be used by the department to make further contact with you about the consultation process. Your personal information will not be disclosed to any other third parties, except in the circumstances outlined below.

Submissions, in part or full, including the name of the author may be published on the department's website or in the Government's response, unless the submission is confidential. Confidential submissions (including author name) will not be published. Private addresses and contact details will not be published or disclosed to any third parties unless required by law.

Submissions will only be treated as confidential if they are expressly stated to be confidential. Automatically generated confidentiality statements or disclaimers appended to an email do not suffice for this purpose. If you wish you make a confidential submission, you should indicate this by ensuring your submission is marked confidential.

Confidential submissions will be kept securely and will only be disclosed in the following circumstances:

  • in response to a request by a Commonwealth Minister;
  • where required by a House or a Committee of the Parliament of the Commonwealth of Australia; or where required by law.

The department may also disclose confidential submissions within the Commonwealth of Australia, including with other Commonwealth agencies, where necessary in the public interest.

Please note that in order to protect the personal privacy of individuals in accordance with the Privacy Act any submissions containing sensitive information, personal information or information which may reasonably be used to identify a person or group of people may not be published, even if not marked as confidential.

Midway Point Causeway (including McGees Bridge) and Sorell Causeway
This project will deliver upgrades to priority locations between Hobart Airport and Southern Sorell. This project will duplicate the Midway Point Causeway (including McGees Bridge) and the Sorell Causeway.
Tasman Bridge Upgrade
This project will deliver targeted upgrades of the Tasman Bridge over the Derwent River to strengthen the bridge, and enhance traffic flow efficiency and road user safety. The 1.4 kilometre long Tasman Bridge is one of the most critical sections of road in Tasmania, and carries the highest volume of any road section with approximately 70,000 vehicles per day. Forming part of the key urban freight and passenger corridor in Hobart, the Tasman Bridge provides a vital link between the eastern and western suburbs of the city.
Bass Highway targeted upgrades between Deloraine and Devonport
The Bass Highway is a key link for freight, tourism and people movement between the far northwest of Tasmania and the key ports of Burnie and Devonport and further to Launceston and Hobart. This project will deliver targeted upgrades between Deloraine and Devonport to improve road safety, reduce congestion and improve travel times along this key section of the highway.
Arthurs Seat Pedestrian Improvements
This project provided pedestrian safety upgrades, including the installation of two zebra crossings on Arthurs Seat Road. Arthurs Seat is located on the Mornington Peninsula, south-east of Melbourne, and attracts significant tourism at Arthurs Seat Eagle.
Bridport Road freight efficiency and safety upgrades
This project will deliver targeted freight efficiency and safety upgrades on Bridport Road located in the far northeast of Tasmania.
Barwon Heads Road Upgrade
This project will duplicate Barwon Heads Road, south of Geelong, from Settlement Road to Reserve Road, and will deliver an additional southbound carriageway and upgrade and rehabilitate the existing northbound carriageway.Works will also include grade separation of the level crossing with the Geelong-Warrnambool Rail Line, construction of a new bridge structure over Waurn Ponds Creek, intersection and signalling upgrades, installation of new guardrails and safety barriers, upgraded pedestrian and cycling infrastructure, improvements to street lighting, signage, drainage and landscaping, and planning for future upgrades.  
Hall Road Upgrade
This project will upgrade 5.2km of Hall Road between McCormicks Road in Skye and Cranbourne-Frankston Road in Cranbourne West.The project will:Increase traffic lanes on Hall Road to two lanes in each direction between McCormicks Road and Cranbourne-Frankston RoadUpgrade intersections at McCormicks Road, Taylors Road, Evans Road, Western Port Highway and Cranbourne-Frankston Road to improve access and reduce the risk of crashesBuild a new shared walking and cycling path along Hall Road
Northern Rail Plan
The Northern Rail Plan (NRP) now forms part of the Melbourne Northern Suburbs Rail Upgrades - Planning project, which will consider the outcomes of the NRP. This project will deliver a development brief to prepare a Rapid Options Analysis for the Somerton Link and Upfield Craigieburn Line Upgrade Project.
Narre Warren North Road Upgrade
This project upgraded Narre Warren North Road between Fox Road and Belgrave-Hallam Road in Narre Warren North.  Upgrades included: an additional lane in each direction  upgrades to the Heatherton Road and Ernst Wanke Road intersections  investigating new safety treatments for the Memorial Drive and Crawley Road intersections
Shepparton Rail Line Upgrade – Stage 3
The project will upgrade the Shepparton Rail Line between Seymour and Shepparton in Victoria. Works will include track and signalling upgrades, expansion of stabling facilities at Shepparton station, and expansion of the Murchison East crossing loop. The works will allow VLocity trains to operate at maximum running speeds between Shepparton and Melbourne and enable the implementation of an updating timetable with more frequent and conveniently timed services.
