Heavy Vehicle Safety and Productivity Program
The Heavy Vehicle Safety and Productivity Program (HVSPP) is an Australian Government initiative, with up to $65 million per year provided to fund infrastructure projects that improve the productivity and safety outcomes of heavy vehicle operations across Australia.
Applications are accepted all year round to provide increased flexibility and permit projects to be submitted when they will most benefit Australia’s heavy vehicle infrastructure.
Applications are continually assessed with recommended projects batched on a regular basis for approval by the Minister. Timing of each tranche is subject to change and is dependent on demand, however we expect tranches to close around the end of February, May, August and November each year.
Applications for HVSPP funding are invited from state, territory and local governments. Please refer to the Program Resource web page for information on how to apply or administer your existing project.

This program previously accepted applications through time-limited funding rounds. Since the program commenced in 2009 seven funding rounds have been undertaken.
