Project description
This project is one of 11 early works along the Townsville to Roma corridor upgrade, part of the Roads of Strategic Importance initiative. The project will raise the height of the Dawson Highway and provide drainage structures to increase flood immunity 19 kilometres west of Moura.
The Dawson Highway is a strategic route connecting eastern and western Queensland and also links the Port of Gladstone to the coal fields around Emerald and agricultural industries across Central Queensland.

Funding
The Australian Government is contributing $4.8 million, 80 per cent of the project cost, with the Queensland Government contributing 20 per cent or $1.2 million.
Timetable
Construction commenced in April 2021 and is expected to be completed in mid 2022.
