Project DescriptionThe project involved the construction of an additional in bound lane and road overpasses, removal of rail crossings, provision of service roads and installation of a traffic management system. BenefitsThe project will assist in:
- reducing traffic congestion
- increasing safety
- improving access for motorists entering and exiting the highway
- reducing travel times
- providing better facilities for cyclists and pedestrians
FundingThe Australian Government fully funded the project, contributingĀ $145.2 million. TimetableConstruction commenced in October 2011 and was completed inĀ April 2014. |
