Project Description

The existing unsealed surface is very sandy and has started to fail under heavy traffic. The carriageway is also not wide enough for the type of Restricted Access Vehicles that are using it.

Widen and construct along the entire 3.37 kilometre section a 9.0m wide by 150 millimetre thick compacted gravel carriageway. New gravel will be imported, spread, water bound and compacted to achieve the designated surface.
