Project DescriptionNo road currently exists at this location - this new connection will complete the construction of Westwood Drive providing access along the full length from Western Highway to Taylors Road.
Construction of 780 metres of 8 metre wide, two lane road and 70 metres of bridge over Kororoit Creek to match. No road currently exists at this location - this new connection will complete the construction of Westwood Drive providing access along the full length from Western Highway to Taylors Road.
Stage 1 of the works includes the purchase of land to facilitate construction, clearing and grubbing of the site, 80% of top soil removal, 50% of bulk earthworks, 70% of the pavement capping layer and miscellaneous drainage works. This Stage of the works was completed by 31st December 2014. The total project cost shown below is for this stage of the works.
Stage 2 of the works will include the balance of the construction including bridgeworks, deep strength asphalt pavement, kerb and channel and along footpath both sides of the road and pedestrian refuges. This work will be commenced once all approvals in place. Funding for this stage of the project will be sought from the next round of Roads to Recovery funding.
