Project DescriptionThis project aimed to address the level crossing between Remembrance Drive and the Avenue Road by installing flashing lights, bells, boom barriers and a pedestrian crossing. Associated roadwork were undertaken by the Ballarat City Council.
BenefitsThe project aimed to reconnect Remembrance Drive and the Avenue Road to enable a continuous route along the historic Avenue of Honour. The project aimed to improve vehicle and pedestrian safety. FundingThe Australian Government contributed $1 million (capped) to reopen the level crossing and the Ballarat City Council contributed $251,658. TimetableThis project is complete. |
