Project DescriptionPuti Driove is a main road in the community with a high level of daily traffic. The road is at risk of erdoing due to inadequate barriers between the road edge and the ocean. Currently, the waters edge is less than 3 metres from the edge of the existing bitumen road. Erosion is occuring at a rate of 200mm per annum.
Installation of a 4.5 metre deep x 125 metre long tapered solid rock and concrete wall. This will act as a barrier between the roads edge and the ocean and cease any further erosion. It will increase the distance between the ocean and the road to 7.5 metres. |
